1) Heritage style riding jacket, complete with removable brooch - Priced at £40 it was reduced for a limited period to £20. It has an incredibly flattering cut considering its price and when viewed up close you can see very tiny flecks of cerise pink, sunshine yellow and peacock blue running through it, which will make it all the more easy to coordinate, adapt and update. Perfect with jeans, leggings and riding boots or even a wool skirt if you want to go for that all out heritage glam. Just add pearls.
2) Peacock Blue Sheer Blouse - Priced at £22, no further discount. This is quite a long blouse which again will look good with jeans or black leggings and long boots. It is quite sheer, so will require a vest underneath for everyone except the truly brave. The deep cut of the neck line is flattering and is finished with a bow detail which can be just knotted casually once or tied into an elaborate pussy bow (probably best left to those smaller than a c-cup so as to avoid extra bulk). It's very roomy and I got away with buying it a size smaller than my usual as I felt it was more flattering. It would also look great with a long sleeveless cardigan over the top.
3) Black Bootleg Jeans - £9.99 - What an absolute bargain. These jeans are an incredibly ink black and at this price you don't mind updating on a regular basis when the colour runs out in the wash. The label said they were mid-rise, which isn't really the case but at that price who's complaining! A word of warning - the colour on these (and indeed any dark coloured jeans) will rub off on light coloured sofa's - I make anyone wearing dark jeans sit on a blanket - including me.
4) Jewelled Black Satin Ballet Pumps - Were £20, down to £10 for a limited period. These will glam up even the most boring of outfits. Nothing more to say!
The next items were from Primark and Marks and Spencer respectively and again are super bargains!
5) Fair Isle Tunic - £11 - I fell in love with this instantly and was all over the rail like a rabid dog hoping they had it left in my size - which lucky for the shoppers around me, they did! I went straight home and put it on, along with The Holiday on DVD as I was totally in the festive spirit.
6) Black Leggings - Indigo Range - £8. I have to say I've been a late adopter in the leggings trend, mainly as I don't have fantastic legs that I want to show off. However, after a summer shopping trip with friend where she made me take the plunge, I have to say I've been making small forays into this strange but comfortable land. What I am not comfortable with is the outrageously see though options available to buy on the high street. Which is why I jumped for joy when I stumbled across this pair of black leggings in M&S as part of their Indigo range. They are reassuringly thick and are not in the slightest bit see through.
So in total I spent £81 on 6 garments which will see me right through autumn and well into winter. At an average of £13.50 per item, it won't take me long to get my cost per wear out of these little gems!
The hunt for the perfect (for me) LBD continues....
